Title: Wirdum, Borg Rusthoven
Caption: Wirdum [prov.of Groningen] Borg (=manor/castle) Rusthoven. Probably built in 1686 by Johan Eeck, mayor of the town of Groningen, son of the master-builder of the closeby 'Borg Ekenstein'. The photo shows the manor during the period of renovation during 1992 after which it became place for modern art exhibitions. Rusthoven also was the name of the 1804 brickmill close to the manor.
